Marked osteoarthritis of the spine was noted in the initial medical board report. Case taken by C. Stone as Mr Kitts was at the TUC - handwritten postcard states: 'the appeals board played on the previous injury he had to his back in March 1952, unfortunately he could not give any help to the tribunal. […] had he given some explanation they would have considered the appeal'.
