Further information: Below knee amputation of left leg in 1945 because of gunshot wound. The dermatitis had been diagnosed as a a Prescribed Disease from March 1951 - April 1952 but was no longer deemed to be so as the condition improved. In Tribunal's Minister's Observations, attention was drawn to the paired organs rule - if one organ is injured, then any defect in the other organ should also be attributed to the accident'.
