Further information: Harvey's accident was in July 1953 and after a 3 per cent disablement for life award because 'the relevant accident had aggravated osteo-arthritis' he changed his occupation to light work as a Button man. Medical report in 1958 stated claimant had arthritis in both elbows and shoulders, an old knee operation and bronchitis and no longer was suffering any particular disability from the accident. Appeal adjourned on 9 July 1958 for further medical evidence. GP letter referred only to the limitations of the elbow injured in the accident and that an X-ray showed no change from 4 years previously. Wages evidence given that 'Wages as a Ripper would be £15, Wages as a Button man £9.14.0 '.
