Initial hearing 20/05/1954 adjourned for medical report which gave osteo-arthritis of the knee as the diagnosis: '..his work is a very material factor in causing recurrant attacks of pain and swelling. The work itself may have been a major factor in leading up to his present disability.... Osteo-arthritis is not the result of beat knee but osteo-arthritis aggravated by occupational trauma might give rise to beat knee' 'Mr Kitts says it is not unusual in this industry for arthritis to follow beat knee, beat elbow or beat wrist' in proceedings report. (Mr Kitts was the Compensation Agent). Final decision was that an appeal to the Commissioner would not be supported.
