Further information: Mr Hardman's occupation as a belt turner earned him an average of £17 per week. Following an accident on 13th March 1951, he claimed Special Hardship Allowance in April 1953. He was notified of the decision that his claim had been turned down on 27th April 1953 and appealed on the grounds that he is not able to go back to his regular occupation. The reason given for the delay is that he did not realise that the fibrositis was as a result of the injury. There is a note that he spent some time in Whiteley Woods Rehabilitation Centre (February 1953) and his occupation at that time was Belt turner. There is a pink handwritten note that says 'Lost.' |
