Further information: The accident occurred on 10 February 1953 and Mr Doar was awarded injury benefit. On 13 June 1953 he claimed disablement benefit and was awarded a disability pension of 11 shillings from 17th June to 15th December 1953. There is a breakdown of Mr Doar's earnings pre and post-accident, which range from £16. 7. 1 week ending 3 January 1953 (pre-accident) to £10. 6. 6 week ending 11 July 1953 (post accident). The grounds of appeal are that 'I am at a loss of £3 per week and I cannot kneel long which I have tried because of pain from my toes to ankle, also the ankle becomes stiff and swollen.' There is a handwritten note on the hearing notification that states 'withdrawn.'
