Further information: Claim for increase in sickness benefit for wife during two periods of inacapacity to work 25 February to 10 March 1959 and 8 February to 13 February 1960. Later it transpired she was in fact employed duirng these periods. Ferguson claimed he had believed it was only if his wife was in receipt of earnings over 40s per week that he would be disqualified from the benefit.
