| Description | Rural Sanitary Authorities were originally co-terminus with Union boundaries and controlled by the Board of Guardians under the 1872 Public Health Act. At that stage, the MOH reported to the Board of Guardians, but after 1895, reports were made to the relevant Rural or Urban District Council. The alter surviving reports are therefore only stray items, oddments probably sent to the Guardians for information. |
