Administrative History | Somercotes Infants School opened in 1867. It was followed in 1874 by a National School for Boys and in 1894 by a National School for Girls. The land for the Infants School was given by J & H Oakes of Riddings, who supported all the Somercotes Schools. In 1903 the schools be-came Council Schools under the control of Derbyshire Local Education Authority. For other Somercotes schools records, see D1631 and D2743. |
