Description | Records of the Matlock circuit of the Methodist Church, including records from former circuits The Matlock Methodist Circuit dates from 1949 and the amalgamation of the Matlock Trinity, Matlock Bank and Matlock Imperial Road circuits These were continuations respectively of the Wesleyan, Primitive and United (formerly United Methodist Free) Methodist connexions Further information on each circuit can be found in the introduction to that section of the list The records show that after the union of the Methodist churches in 1932, the former denominations retained their separate circuit structures, though under these different names Frequently the same volumes were used: the last volume of each series inherited by the new single circuit has in such cases been listed as the first volume in the new series (for example MM 1/1/1).
