Administrative History
Etwall Hall was re-built between 1713 and 1726 by Francis Smith of Warwick. Some rebuilding took place in the 1820s after the death of William Cotton (1740-1819). The last Cotton heir died in 1894 and the Hall was eventually purchased by Derbyshire County Council. It was demolished in 1955 and later became the site of Sir John Port School.
