East Midlands Regional Library System; 1934-; Strategic body for libraries across all sectors in the East Midlands. Its members include all the region's public and university libraries and a number of Colleges of Further Education and special libraries. EMRLS encourages and supports regional co-operation and partnership working relating to resource sharing. Later known as LIEM (Libraries and Information in the East Midlands); the main office in Alfreton closed in 2016.
