Duchy of Lancaster; 1265-; The Duchy of Lancaster is a portfolio of land, property and assets held in trust for the Sovereign in His or Her role as Duke of Lancaster.
Record Commission; 1800-1837; A series of six Royal Commissions, inquiring into the custody and public accessibility of the state archives. Led to the establishment of the Public Record Office in 1838. The Commissioners were also responsible for publishing a number of important medieval records.
