8 - Bond in £4,000 From Benjamin Aston of Hathersage junior gent To Robert his elder brother. For Benjamin within a month of the death of his father Benjamin Ashton esq: to convey to Robert half of lands, lead mines, goods etc, which Benjamin was possessed of at time of their father’s death. Endorsed “my Brother Benjamin Ashton his Bond to me.” 9 Feb - 1716-1717
9 - Copy of part of will of Robert Ashton esq, grandfather of the testator, relating to a bequest to the poor of Stoney Middleton. Will dated 24 Aug 1683, bequeaths £200 in trust for the poor, executors of will named as sons Robert, Benjamin and Samuel and daughter Sarah.With copy of will dated 9 Feb 1716/7 of Benjamin Ashton of Hathersage esq, bequeathing his messuages, mills, lands, lead mines and mineral possessions to sons Robert and Benjamin equally, money to grandson, Benjamin and naming sons executors. Will proved 1717. - nd[18th cent]

11 - Page of accounts relating to state of debts and legacies due from, and the effects belonging to, trust estate of Benjamin Ashton esq deceased. Refers to sums of money amounting to over £12,000 including mortgage to William Spencer esq, Gryndlow rent, annuity to ‘Madam Spencer.’ Effects including about 40 fodders of lead worth £640, stock on Padley Farm, produce of Ashop Woods, wool, lease of lot and cope in Eyam, millstones, rents. 17 Sept - 1729
