ArrangementThe order of series Q/SB/7-9 was to reflect the chronological order of the dates at which the series began, usually because of legislation.

There are however (it is believed) various bits and bobs which may have been part of the sessions bundles, e.g. traverses (lists of pleas of not guilty). Examination of the remaining unlisted records is required before a final arrangement can be made.

The session bundles (ref: Q/SB) were taken apart in the late 19th century and we cannot be certain which of the surviving records of the Quarter Sessions were in them. Those which it is believed were constituents of the session bundles include:
- writs addressed to the sheriff to call the courts and to produce witnesses, etc. at the sessions
- jury panels and lists of prisoners
- presentments (accusations), informations and indictments
- recognisances (bonds to keep the peace, appear at the next sessions, etc.)
- examinations and petitions.

It is probable that from the late 17th century, the bundles were wrapped in the Liber Pacis (book of peace) listing the County’s officers (see ref Q/SB/1).
