Cow Close Farm, the property of the Balguy family, sold to Francis Staley of Conksbury in 1728. 1704-38.
North Lees: 1734. Deed of sale by John Gilbert of Southhouse Grange to Henry Thornhill, of all the North Lees property, then in the occupation of Stephen Hand, together with one corn mill and one smelting mill and the cottages or tenements in the occupation of various tenants (named). Also recites will and deeds of John Savile of Southhouse Grange, leaving the estate to his nephew the said John Gilbert, subject to payment of debts. 1734/5. Deed of sale by Thornhill to Francis Staley of Conksbury and further wills and deeds of settlement, by which the property descended in the Staley and Wall of Wensley families, and to the various descendants of John Staley Vessey; includes mortgages to Anthony Clarkson. Quotes also lease to William Eyre, farmer, in 1819 by Clarkson, at the request of Vessey, for 21 years
