TitleTestimonial by William Wyght of Hopton, notary public that on 13 May 1359 [6th year of Innocent's papacy], in Wirksworth church, Master Robert of Yrton, vicar of Wirksworth, reaffirmed the agreement made between Master Nicholas of Oxton, a previous vicar of Wirksworth, and Abbot Henry of Darley Abbey regarding tithes payable on land in Wigwell, pa Wirksworth: the Abbot to pay to the vicar of Wirksworth church as greater tithes 3 silver shillings for every 100 sheep and cows; 1 penny for every cow in calf; 12d as composition for lesser tithes; the abbot to keep tithes of fruit and vegetables; the vicar to keep tithes of corn and hay and the mill.
