Administrative HistoryMatlock is one of the ancient parishes in the county. The parish included Matlock Bank to 1886, Matlock Bath to 1842, Riber to 1865 (when it became part of Tansley) and Scarthin Nick and Cromford Bridge (which subsequently became part of Matlock Bath parish). Starkholmes, where there was a mission room and Lumsdale were also part of Matlock parish.
