Biography | Quaco was an enslaved man of African descent on the Turners Hall sugar plantation in Barbados, who first appears in the records on 31 December 1759. In 1759 he was recorded as a clayer (a potter who made the clay pots in which the sugar was formed into loaves). In 1771 and 1781 he was also a cane watchman. By 1781 he was described as 'old' and in 'middling health'
