Administrative History | The Ashbourne Round Table 326 was founded in 1952 as part of an international movement which aimed to create a point of contact for local men between the ages of 18 and 40. Social and community activities were a cornerstone of the group, the most obvious being the Ashbourne Carnival which was staged by the Round Table intermittently from the 1950s to the 1990s.
This collection incorporates both the records of the Ashbourne Table and those of the Ashbourne 41 Club (an organisation for retired Tablers above the age of 40). Also included is a selection of papers from the Table region "Area 14", that had branches in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland. Other unrelated items concerning Round Table activity in Derbyshire have also been listed below. |
Custodial History | These records were donated by a private individual in April 2011. Re-accessioned from D7415 in June 2012. |
