Administrative History | Revd George Butt was born c1816 and educated at Christ Church, Oxford. He was ordained as a deacon in 1838 and as a priest the following year. Soon afterwards he visited New Zealand with his wife, possibly as a minister. In 1851 he was appointed as Vicar of Chesterfield, a position he retained until his death in 1888. |
