Administrative History | Walter Evans Church of England Aided Primary School was formed in a merger of predecessor schools. Originally, there were separate Darley Abbey Boys and Girls Schools. These became a mixed school in 1909. The mixed school merged with Darley Abbey Infants School to become St Matthews Church of England Aided Junior and Infant Mixed School, and later Walter Evans Church of England Aided Primary School on a new site in Darley Abbey Drive. The school is named after Walter Evans whose Charity founded five schools in the area, including the schools at Darley Abbey |
