Administrative History
This school opened in January 1875 as the Infants department of the Eckington Central Board school (which also had boys and girls departments). When school boards were abolished in 1903, it became the Eckington Infants Council school under the Derbyshire Education Committee. The school moved to its new premises on the Birk Hill estate in January 1953. This transfer of records includes stray items from the girls department.
Custodial History
Transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in January 1984. A further deposit was received in February 2019.
