Lease and release by John Hall, yeoman of Basford, p Cheddleton, co Staffs and Joseph Hall, yeoman, formerly of St Sepulchre's parish, London and since of Basford, son and heir of the late Samuel Hall and his wife Ann (Ann being a daughter and coheir of the late Richard and Margaret Whitby of Ashford) to John Elmes, gentleman and servant to the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth of a fourth share of two doles of land in Barn Close; a dole in Woollendale Close and a barn in Barn Close, Ashford, excepting the life interest of Elizabeth Peploe, widow (see T/54-59).
