Title
Marriage settlement for the marriage of Thomas Mellor, junior, son of Thomas Mellor, senior, yeoman of Townend, p. Chapel en le Frith and Mary Greensmith daughter of the late Samuel Greensmith, yeoman of Pilsley. £120, part of the estate of Samuel Greensmith will be paid by Raph Kyrke, innkeeper of Chapel en le Frith as Mary's marriage portion. Thomas Mellor, senior. will convey a third of the messuage at Townend, Chapel en le Frith now in the possession of his widowed mother Grace Thornhill for her use during her lifetime, then for his own use during his lifetime (£100 being paid by Thomas Mellor junior to his younger brothers and sisters) and on his death the third share is conveyed to Thomas Mellor junior and his heirs on payment of a further sum of £80. The remaining two thirds and a close of 16 acre called Boultedge alias Brightedge at Chapel en le Frith are for the use of Thomas Mellor, senior for life, then this wife Ellen for her life and then to Thomas Mellor, junior, 18 May
