Hope to Joseph Ferne, clerk of Matlock of Botham's Close (1 acre 1 rood) and 3 butts of land in the Dalehead and one butt in Redmearhead to Joseph Ferne in return for 1 acre in Slack Close, 3 roods in the close "mean Botham's" Close and one butt in Stony Low from William Ferne. With an agreement for William Ferne to lease Bothams Closes (3 acres); a butt, a butt in Gaincliff, one rood in Long roods and two beastgrasses in Cunningdale for 12 years at an annual rent of £4.17s. 15 Jan 1695/6
