Title
Settlement by Hugh Goodwin, yeoman of Monyash and his wife Dorothy of a messuage house in Monyash, with barn, shippen [stable] and outhouses; the Croft on the back of the house, the Over Croft and the two Tunstead Closes (6 ½ acres) to Hugh Sheldon, gentleman of Monyash and Hugh Goodwin, jun., yeoman of Knotlow to the use of Hugh Goodwin for life, then to his wife Dorothy for life and then to their heirs. Recites feoffment by John Bartholomew, yeoman of Monyash in consideration of the impending marriage of his daughter Dorothy to John Gratton, yeoman of Monyash and Richard Goodwin, yeoman of Monyash and Richard Goodwin, yeoman of the Meadow of the Nether New Furlong with barn and shippen, over New Furlong and New Furlong head, (5 acres) for the use of John Bartholomew for life and then Hugh and Dorothy Goodwin for their lives (1 Jul 1690). Hugh Goodwin has sold his reversion to this property to Thomas Blower, yeoman of Alstonfield, co Staffs and so has Dorothy in return for an annuity of £8. 11 May
