Person Robin (fl 1759-1781); enslaved man on the Turners Hall plantation TH005 Robin fl 1759-1781 enslaved man on the Turners Hall plantation Male African Barbados Barbados Robin was an enslaved man of African descent on the Turners Hall sugar plantation in Barbados, who first appears in the records on 31 December 1759. In 1759 he was recorded as a boiler and in 1771 he was head watchman and boiler. The boiler had a highly skilled job which involved judging the consistency of the boiling sugar cane juice to decide when it should pass to the next stage of boiling and when it was ready to set as sugar. Robin was born in Barbados. He was married to Murriah with whom he had several children: Nanny, Cuffey, Robin, Landah and Sarey. His nephews were (Little) Larrick and (Little) Robin.
