At this time the Circuit was made up of eight churches: Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith (Townend), Bagshaw, Combs, White Knowle, Chinley, Fernilee and Kettleshulme.

In the 1950s, the circuit saw the addition of the ex-Primitive Methodist Church chapels at Buxworth (closed 1984), Dove Holes, Whitehough and Chapel-en-le-Frith (Market Street). In 1966, Chapel, Market Street, united with Townend Methodist Church, to form Chapel-en-le-Frith Methodist Church.

In September 2003 an amalgamation took place between the Whaley Bridge and New Mills Circuits to form the High Peak Methodist Circuit.
