Peak Dale school opened in 1886 and an Infants Department was set up in 1895. A separate infant school was built in 1899. In 1941 the infant school ceased to have a separate headteacher and reverted to being an infant department. Wormhill Church of England School closed in 1966 and its pupils transferred to Peak Dale School.
