Through the marriage of Parthenope Nightingale to Sir Harry Verney of Claydon, Buckinghamshire, they passed to the Verney family and specifically to Parthenope's stepson, Frederick William Verney (1846-1913). His successor, Sir Ralph Verney (d.1959) sold the Pleasley estates in 1926.
