Person DS/UK/4150 Feilding; Mary Victorine (1787-?1864); ward of Edward Miller Mundy MP Feilding Mary Victorine Female ward of Edward Miller Mundy MP 1787-?1864 Mary Victorine Pollock Mary Victorine Feilding, born 16 June 1787, was the youngest of the three illegitimate children of William, Viscount Feilding (1760-1799) and Maria Magdalena Huntley, also known as Maria Magdalena Groeschner. She was baptised in France, as was her brother Louis Victor William Feilding (born 1786). The oldest of the three children, William George Augustus Feilding (1784-1868) was born in in London. Viscount Feilding was the eldest son of the 6th Earl of Denbigh, and was a British Army officer and politician. In 1791 he married Anne Powys, daughter of Thomas Jelf Powys of Berwick House, Shropshire, with whom he had three legitimate children: William Basil Percy, 7th Earl of Denbigh (1796-1865), Emily and Henry Wentworth. Maria Magdalena Groeschner married William Williams at St James, Piccadilly in 1802. After Viscount Feilding’s death, Edward Miller Mundy became Mary's guardian. Her brother William joined the army, and Louis (known as Victor) joined the navy. Mary was intended to earn her living in business as a milliner or dressmaker, and was unsuccessfully placed with several shops to learn the trade. She spent more money than she earned, and her behaviour led to a breach with her mother and the Mundy family. She later married Hugh Pollock and probably lived in Ireland; she was still living when her brother William wrote his will in 1864 but may have died the same year.
