Person Strutt; Lord; Henry (1840-1914); 2nd Baron Belper, soldier, MP DS/UK/2066 Strutt Henry Lord 1840-1914 2nd Baron Belper, soldier, MP Kingston Hall, Kingston upon Soar, Nottinghamshire St Helen's House, Derby Son of Edward, 1st Baron Belper he was educated at Harrow progressing to gained LLB and MA at Trinity College Cambridge. He was Liberal MP for East Derbyshire 1868-1874. In 1874 he married lady Margaret Coke of Holkham Hall, Norfolk,daughter of the 2nd Earl of Leicester. He represented Berwick upon Tweed for a short period in 1880 before securing a position in the House of Lords upon the death of his father. He was aide de camp to the Sovereign between 1894 and 1914, a JP for Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire and Deputy Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire. He also played cricket for MCC in his youth. Lieut-Colonel in the South Nottinghamshire Hussars Yeomanry
