• Settlement examination: 6 Oct 1736: Thomas Greenwell aged 18 years, born in Grantham, at age 7 years placed for seven years as apprentice to Robert Harpur of Lincoln, chimney sweep, ran away after four years, then wandered the country and swept chimneys 
• Removal certificate: 22 Feb 1745: removal from Chesterfield to Alfreton of Thomas Miles, Hannah his wife and Hannah Toft his apprentice. Refers to a settlement certificate of 1727 from Alfreton  
• Petition: 21 Dec 1857: owners and occupiers of Griffe Grange (twenty signatures) petition to be annexed to township of Hopton for rating, electoral registration and registration of birth and deaths: with notice of vestry meeting and consent to the proposal. [See also D258/2/36/1] 
• Letter of Administration, Diocese of Lichfield and Coventry: 15 Feb 1774: to Samuel Carding, overseer of the poor of Matlock: estate of John Oates, late of Matlock, labourer: his widow Hannah, a lunatic, and her children are maintained in the workhouse 
• Notice of vestry meeting, resolution and proposal: 20-27 Mar 1862: extra-parochial district of Tadsor should form part of Calke 
• Writ: 21 Jan 1843: justices to hear an application by guardians of Shardlow union: George Potter of Stanley, farmer, to maintain male child of Hannah Barton of Stanley 
• Agreement: 7 Aug 1832: between named parishes in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire for establishment and funding of a workhouse at Appleby; with signatures of representative of each parish and approbation by George Crewe and John Beaumont
