Agricultural Committee Minute Books The 1919 Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act required County Councils to set up an Agricultural Committee, with one third of the membership nominated by the minister and two thirds representing the County Council and other local authorities and interest groups. Previously separate committees now became sub-committees on this - Smallholdings (see1/14/1-6) and Diseases of Animals (see 1/9/2). Under the 1947 Agriculture Act, the committee was dissolved and its functions were taken over by the Smallholdings and Agricultural Purposes committee (see 1/14/3-5) 1920-1947
