Extract of letter from Reverend John West, on meeting Captain Franklin and Dr Richardson of the Northern Land Expedition, original dated 29 Aug 1822 They have promised to call at the Church Missionary House and expressed interest on behalf of the Esquimaux Indians; they have been a frequent subject of their conversation, with a good opening for establishing a school for them 150 miles north of Churchill in Hudson's Bay; he hopes to visit a chief next spring, who wants a white man to instruct his tribes.
