  <dc:description>Contains newspaper cuttings, postcards, printed propaganda cartoons, drawings, poems, comments etc by the wounded men; signatures of staff and patients, and photographs.  Many of the photographs depict named Belgium and British soldiers being treated at the Devonshire Hospital, Buxton, and hospital staff showing the wards and grounds of the hospital, and trips out of the hospital.  

Also includes handwritten accounts in French and Flemisg of the Belgians experiences during the 1914 German advance.  Some of the photographs of the matron have been torn out apparently by Nancy Garnett.</dc:description>
