  <dc:title>Sir John Port's Charity, Etwall</dc:title>
<dc:description>These records concern the legal affairs of the charity including case papers and land transfers. The principal series of records concerns the court case between Repton School and the Repton Rural District Council in 1917-18. This case concerned an addition made to one of the school's buildings which the council argued was in contravention of local bye-laws. The case was heard at the Court of King Bench, and later at the Court of Appeal. Repton School successfully argued that the bye-laws in question were invalid and thus the case was dismissed at both courts.</dc:description>
