<dc:title>Hartington Station</dc:title>
<dc:description>Having visited the C&HPR and the Harpur Hill Spur, the tour returned to the former B&HPJR No.1 to Hindlow and then continued southwards on the Ashbourne & Buxton Railway to Hartington behind the Fairburn tank bunker-first. The participants had disembarked to photograph the train at the closed station. The regular passenger service was withdrawn on the 1st November 1954 and goods traffic on the 6th July 1964. The box remained in use until 25th October 1967. The line south to Ashbourne was closed on 7th October 1963 and the track removed during the latter half of 1964. Note the line heading north in the down direction through the cutting west of Gaskin Low, above the locomotive. By the time of the photograph the track at the station had been simplified with the short siding by the loading dock at the rear of the up platform removed.</dc:description>
