  <dc:title>Gotham Curve</dc:title>
<dc:description>The tightest curve on the line was at Gotham. The radius of the curve being only 2½ chains (55 yards) and took the track through 80°. Note the checkrails to prevent de-railing on the tight curve, which once upon a time had a super elevation of 11". It subsequently was significantly reduced but had a 5 mph speed limit enforced. The view is in the 'up' direction. The track crossing the railway runs between the two Gotham Granges. Note the platelayers' cabin on the right.</dc:description>
