Whaley Bridge The bridge carrying the CHPR over the River Goyt at the foot of the Whaley Bridge Incline. The timberwork on the bridge was replaced in 1863, but not the cast-iron. The wrought iron, bowstring girders were erected at a later date. The bridge on Bridge Street is in the background beyond the CHPR bridge. 20th Cent
