Clay Cross Secondary Modern Boys' School (formerly Clay Cross Company's Boys' School, later Clay Lane Board School, later Clay Cross Council School, Senior Boys' Department) Records comprise log books and admission registers of the Senior Boys' Department from the early years of the Clay Cross Company School, through the period in which the school was under the control of the Clay Lane School Board and then part of Clay Cross Council School, to the amalgamation of the Senior Boys' and Girls' Schools to form the Clay Cross Secondary Modern School in 1962. Log books end at July 1969, when the mixed secondary school at Clay Cross closed and all children of secondary age were transferred to the site at Tupton Hall. 1863-1969
