  <dc:description>John was the younger son of John William Wright and was a solicitor in Tamworth. His father's estate was divided in his will between himself and his brother James Farewell Wright of Sheffield and Eyam; John inherited Eyam Hall, although he did not live there; it was occupied by his unmarried aunts and then by his daughters Harriet and Margaret. John Wright married Mary Anne Ratcliff (see series D5430/62) and had two sons and three daughters, none of whom left any issue</dc:description>
