'Bradbury Hall (previously Field House)' Papers relating to Bradbury Hall, Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, bought by Robinson and Sons in 1928 and extended to form a central works canteen and social venue for the firm. In the 1930s a series of celebrity concerts and lectures were held there and during the World War it was used as a recreational centre for troops stationed in the town.It was a staging post for Servicemen returning from Dunkirk, and provided temporary shelter for 3,000 London refugees.
