<dc:title>Groom and Company Ltd, saw mills, timber and marble works, Bakewell</dc:title>
<dc:description>Francis Norman and Cecil Frederick Groom entered articles of partnership in 1889 to run the sawmills and marble works in Bakewell. The partnership was dissolved after Mr Norman's death. Cecil Groom was a Wesleyan Methodist Minister and absent from Bakewell, but continued to be involved with the business until 1897 when his interest was sold to the other members of the by now limited company. Financial difficulties led to the business being administered by John Needham of Manchester, but the company went into liquidation in 1901. Mr F J Taylor of Bakewell was the Company Secretary.</dc:description>
