<dc:title>Deeds and papers relating to the sale of land owned by Mrs Catharina Margaretha Brittlebank in Winster, Derbyshire, 1891</dc:title>
<dc:description>The Brittlebank estate at Winster, Wensley and Bonsall was sold by auction at the Public Hall, Winster on 25 Jun 1891, by George Marsden, Auctioneer, Wirksworth. F. & H. Taylor of Bakewell acted as solicitors for the sale, which included Oddo House, Winster.

At the time of the sale, Mrs Catharina Margaretha Brittlebank was registered as the principal owner of Oddo House, but in 1891 it stood unoccupied, the family having emmigrated. William Brittlebank set up in legal practice at Oddo House in 1791, and several generations of the family continued to practice at the house for nearly 100 years.

Between 1880 and 1890, H. C. Heathcote had acted as Mrs C. M. Brittlebank's agent in the management of the Winster Estates.</dc:description>
