<dc:description>This charity was founded by Catherine Bromehead and her Executrix, Ellen Webster respectively in 1754. Its aim was to pay for an annual sermon to raise awareness of the plight of the poor in Bakewell, and to care for the poor widows of Bakewell.

The charity was managed by a body of Trustees, consisting of three persons. They met at least once a year, with a quorum of two required for a meeting to proceed.
