  <dc:title>Colliery rate books</dc:title>
<dc:description>London Midland and Scottish Railway Mineral Rate Books 1920s - 1950s
Each colliery had its own rate book to show cost of carriage of fuels to each railway station. They include conditions and regulations and index to railways. They sometimes give reference numbers, some of which are probably dates. Notices of increased charges 1937-1954 are often stuck into front of books. The books appear to have been used from the late 1920's or 1930's to the 1950's</dc:description>
