Scarcliffe Charities The Scarcliffe Charities consisted of the Ludlam's, Vaughan's, Pierpont's, Cressborne's, Lawrences's, Johnson's and Saxton's Charities. Under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894, the Parish Council appointed trustees to the charities in place of the churchwardens and overseers. 1896-1971
