  <dc:title>Box 16 - Sisters' Letters</dc:title>
<dc:description>This box contains `Sisters Letters'. These were written under an agreement between the four married daughters of William Brodrick, 8th Viscount Midleton: Edith Lyttelton Gell (1866-1944) who married Philip Lyttelton Gell in 1889, Helen (1859-1937) who married Archibald Ean Campbell in 1885, Augusta (1854-1934) who married Sir Cuthbert Edgar Peek in 1884, and Marian (1869-1932) who married James Beethom Whitehead in 1893. The agreement stated that the sisters should write to each other every alternate Sunday and that this would be a private correspondence between the sisters, with no letters shown to anyone else without the consent of the writer. The first letters were written on May 24th 1896.</dc:description>
